Change to Email Feature in PGM Anywhere

Bill Laskin -

As part of our move to Amazon Web Services (AWS) for hosting PGM Anywhere, we have also switched the technology that supports the email feature in PGM Anywhere. Please read the information below to understand how this change affects you.

Background

There are three different delivery methods available under Customize > Chart Options that determine what domain is used when sending emails through the Results or Tools > Charts screens in PGM Anywhere.

Many email systems will reject emails sent from one domain that show a sender with a different domain because they consider them spam. Because of this spam filtering technology, some clients have experienced delivery failure of emails sent through PGM Anywhere. After researching different configurations, we have decided to make the following changes.

What’s New

We have changed the setting in your software to use the "Send to user" option for emailing presentations. This option causes PGM Anywhere to email presentations from presentations@pgcalc.com. Since emails are sent from the PG Calc domain and the "From" address matches that domain, you can be assured of their delivery.

How It Works

"Send to user" emails are designed to be sent to yourself. Under this option, by default, emails are sent to the email address associated with your account with a pdf of your presentations attached. You can then revise the email message as you wish in your own email system before forwarding it to your donor and anyone else you wish.

If you want to email your presentations directly from PGM Anywhere to your donor instead, just change the "To" field to your donor’s email address. We recommend that you also add your email address in the "Cc:" field so you receive a copy and tell your donor in the body of the email to reply to the "Cc:" address, not the "From:" address (presentations@pgcalc.com). Replies to presentations@pgcalc.com will not be answered.

Other Options

Email delivery options are selected under Customize > Chart Options > Emails from Results and Tools should be sent using. If you wish to email presentations directly from PGM Anywhere that are identified as "from" your email address, choose either the "PG Calc domain" or "Client domain" option, then try sending an email from Results. Please note: Technical adjustments to your email system may be required to enable emails from PGM Anywhere to be delivered successfully using either of these emailing options. If you wish to make those changes, please contact PG Calc support for additional  information.
